Fiberglass reinforced composites
LAMILUX delivers a 3-in-1 solution | LAMIfoamtex
Away from the norm and towards innovation and individuality – the latest LAMILUX Composites product delivers a 3-in-1 solution for caravan and bus manufacturers: LAMIfoamtex is a triple-layered composite material that can be customised according to the customer’s wishes and product requirements, as well as having great savings potential for vehicle manufacturers.
LAMILUX Composites Floor revolutionises caravan flooring design
Caravan construction is also seeing a trend towards weight reduction to provide greater efficiency. A lighter floor design is playing an increasingly more important role in this respect. Heavy wood, which also absorbs moisture and is susceptible to mould, can now be replaced by a lightweight sandwich structure laminated with composite. LAMILUX has developed a new material specifically for this field of use. An innovative, odour-free flooring is now available to caravan manufacturers in LAMILUX Composites Floor.
LAMILUX develops new GRP material
To take full advantage of the innovative potential of fibre-reinforced plastics through consistent research and development. LAMILUX underscores this claim with a new technologically-advanced and solution-oriented project which has culminated in a spectacular new composite material: a fibre-reinforced plastic, on the surface of which a nanosilver coating gives it an antibacterial effect and kills germs within just a few hours. The material was initially developed specifically as a wall coating for operating theatres in hospitals. The Regensburg-based research company "Rent-a-Scientist", a world leader in nanosilver research, was the partner in this project.
LAMIsport X-Treme: four layers merged into one
LAMILUX is revolutionizing the properties and manufacturing process for boards and skis in the sports industry with a new, fibre-reinforced composite material. Made of carbon and glass fibres, the high-tech material LAMIsport X-treme forms the upper and lower layers (upper and lower skins) in a compact, compressed sandwich structure. This material features 15 % lower weight while offering high UV resistance and extreme stiffness and strength for sports equipment. Direct printing on the surface and savings on further sandwich layers also ensure a more efficient production process.
Royal visit – the Queen at the 65th anniversary celebration of LAMILUX customer BAILEY
There’s no bigger honour for a company in Great Britain: The longstanding LAMILUX customer BAILEY, manufacturer of high-quality caravans and motor homes, had Queen Elizabeth II personally as a guest at their 65th anniversary celebration. The Queen paid considerable attention to a motor home of the highest quality class, which Her Majesty carefully inspected on both the outside as well as the inside. The outside impressed with the glossy and high-grade surface of its side walls – made of fibre-reinforced LAMILUX HG 4000 plastic.
