Smoke removal from large-scale halls and industrial sheds
Smoke and heat ventilation systems are designed to ensure a smoke-free layer in the lower floor area of extensive halls or industrial sheds in the event of a fire. Such zones not only keep escape routes sufficiently free of smoke, but also ensure fast access for the fire service. This makes it easier to fight the fire and rescue the injured who are not able to escape unaided. This can also often help to prevent an incipient fire from becoming a major one.
Many aspects need to be taken into account to ensure that a stable smoke-free layer is established in the event of a fire. The entire system is designed and dimensioned by our specialist staff, who take into account the shape of the space, the fire safety infrastructure and fire load to calculate the air inlet and extraction surfaces required and make recommendations regarding the layout and activation of SHEV devices.
Proof of a low-smoke layer is a requirement for spaces greater than 1,000 m², for example, in different regulations such as the German Industrial Buildings Guidelines or German Regulations on Places of Assembly Proof can often be easily provided for smaller spaces, thus ensuring safety for operators and users.
